The Long Awaited Letter

Something that seems so scary, can change you life if you choose to look at it in the right light. For anyone, college is the opposite of easy. New roommate who have to share your space with, laundry and shopping that you have to do yourself, and harder, longer classes that take up more of your day than you ever thought possible. But, on the flip side, college the opportunity you get to learn how to be free. You are longer under the roof of your parents, therefore free to make executive decisions for yourself and you can eat, sleep and do basically whatever your heart desires.

Depending on whether you are waiting for an acceptance letter, or a letter to Hogwarts, no letter goes without recognition. Recently, I found that I have been accepted into 2 our my 3 college applicants. I had applied on October 29 and had been long awaiting the day when I got that envelope and inside it read “congratulations Zoe on your acceptance”. Those 5 words are the next step in my life. They open new doors and open new opportunities to embrace and find my inner self.

I choose to look at college in both ways because it helps me keep a healthy medium and a balanced lifestyle. Understanding that college will be no easy task is something that everyone has to recognize, but also understanding that if you meet the right people and do the right things, it can set you on the path to success.

Throughout the application process, there was one too many times when I felt like giving up and shutting my computer, but the only way to get things done is to get them don yourself. Hard work and perseverance is what got me to where I am today and without my grit and determination, I might not be writing this blog post right now. My family deserves more praise than I can possibly give them. They have always supported me even when I could not support myself. They never gave up hope  when I had no hope. I love them and am eternally grateful for everything they have done for me. Thank you Mom and Dad and my three brothers for always standing next to me supporting me and pushing me to new heights. I love you more than you will ever know.

College comes with both struggles and successes,, but it is up to you to make your college experience the one that will lead you to great things. For anyone reading this who might be in the midst of college applications or who have applied to college before, I congratulate you. All of you have made the right decision and are continuing to work hard to have a successful life.

I will be sure to make sure I update you on anything happening with college and to continue to blog about the process. As always, I love you guys and please leave a comment if you feel so inclined.

Until next time…..
