Hello Everyone! First of all I would like to apologize for being MIA on here recently. Life is full of surprises and right now there is so much going on that I am barely pulling it together to do the mandatory stuff. First of all, school is not going too well. All my grades are A’s and B’s except for one which shall not be mentioned for the severity of its letter. Something that you may not know about me is that I am a relatively anxious person and therefore am stressed about many things that are not worth being stressed about. This does not mean I am depressed, I am just nervous. I am working hard to learn how to cope and control my anxiety, but right now I am in the midst of therapy. So, I wanted to throw that out there just so you know why sometimes I post more than others.
Something that I have been nervous to reveal since it has not been set in stone yet is that I applied for a guide dog! The process of getting a guide dog is no easy one. It is complicated and requires a lot of phone calls, emails and paperwork. I have currently completed the online application and now am about to send in my paperwork concerning my physical status, my ophthalmology report and my O&M report. By saying this, I am not saying that I am getting a guide dog, I said I have applied. If everything goes well and according to plan, I will have a guide dog in training by the summer, but we will just have to wait and see. I am so excited to embark on the next chapter on my life and even more excited to be able to share it with you, my followers.
In other vision news, tomorrow, Thursday I am meeting with a representative from a local organization called Magnifiers and More. She is evaluating me for equipment that I could use in college and through my last year in high school. After tomorrow, I will give you an update letting you know when and what vision equipment I will be receiving. Hopefully this meeting goes as planned and I leave with the results I am hoping for.
I am currently on a swim team and have my first competitive meet on December 16. Wish me luck because I am going to need it competing against the talented swimmers in Northeast Ohio.
Sometimes, life throws you ups and downs. Hard times, and good times, but no matter what, we are encouraged to keep pushing forward and to conquer whatever comes our way with grace and poise. So, with that there is a blog post for y’all. I am struggling a little with balancing everything in my life right now. Along with the constant emails, and piles of school works, it is really stressing me out, but I chose to live my life joyfully and to choose to be happy.
As always, feel free to comment any questions you might have for me down below. I hope that you guys enjoyed this small life update. If you would like me to talk about specific aspects of my life not pertaining to vision, feel free to comment any questions and ideas below.
Thanks and have a great day!
