The Burning Question: Do Blind People Dream?

Do Blind People Dream? I can not speak for every blind person in the world, but for me, the answer is yes. I am fully blind with no light perception, and in my right eye, my vision is about 20/60. When i dream, I see with both my eyes. I do not know how much sense that actually makes, but when I am asleep, I can see my dreams from all angles unlike when I am awake.

Not only can I see every vivid color and angle, my dreams are extremely realistic and often mimic real life scenarios. For example, I might have a dream about going to McDonald’s and ordering a cheeseburger, and the next day that happens. I can not speak for all blind people when I say that we dream, but I know for me that not only to I dream, but I see the world as a regular person would see it and I am really grateful for that. It is one of the only times that I can actually see scenarios as I imagine others can see them.

I am a little embarrassed to share this photo with you guys, but this is a picture of me sleeping, just because I feel like it goes along with the topic we are discussing and because it is a pretty funny picture. One other thing I want to say for this blog post is no, my brother and I do not have to share a bed, he just snuck into my bed while I was brushing my teeth.

As always, feel free to leave a comment telling me what you thought or any future posts you want me to make addressing any questions you might have.

Thank you for following along on my journey.
